Well-known in the homeschool community for his exceptional classes, MrD (www.mrdmath.com) provides short ‘pre’ courses (6 week sessions) in all high school math subjects. Typically, one live, online session is provided weekly and a small amount of work is given throughout the week. These are a fantastic way to not just prevent brain drain, but to actually prepare for the next year of math. Note: if your child wants to take an entire math course this summer, he offers an accelerated eLearning classes to fit that need.

Aim Academy also offers two summer SAT math prep courses and a Geometry intensive over the summer that are self-paced (eg, online, but not live).

Personally, I let my kids choose the subjects or topics that they want to learn about- what a perfect time to explore a new interest! You can sign up for a one-time class or try a series or recurring class. If your tween or teen wants a boost before fall math or language arts classes, you can find some eLearning courses to help prepare them- the search function in Outschool is easy to use (see the video for details).
